Using The Nomad 200 With Other Battery Systems

Do you need to use the Nomad 200 with a Yeti battery back? No!
The Nomad 200 is also a great solar charging option for use with RV and Van conversion battery systems, or other portable DIY battery systems. The Nomad 200’s output cable is what they call a “High Power Port”. To the rest of us, this is an Anderson PowerPole connector like the APP30. The only oddity is that Goal Zero stacks their APP connector in a vertical orientation rather than side-by-side.
No problem! The APP30 or APP45 connectors we carry can be stacked vertically or side-by-side as you desire.

Other Wiring Strategies

Want a pre-fab cable solution?
The following cable adapts APP to MC4 (the standard solar connector)…
98014 : MC4 to Anderson (or vice-versa) We also have the Goal Zero version
The reason for doing this is to be able to adapt to #10AWG PV wire which can handle 30A and will permit you to run further distances between your Nomad and your battery.

We can also provide APP to SB50 connector cables so that you can use even larger wire, and rubber-cased wire for longer cable runs between your Nomad 200 and your battery system.

Want to combine multiple Nomad 200 modules using the Goal Zero 98061 Combiner Cable?
With the added current of each Nomad module added in parallel using this combiner cable, you will need to increase the wire size above #12AWG for any distance beyond 15′.

Note that the Goal Zero “High Power Port” Extension Cables listed above are only #14 and #12 gauge cable. This means that they cannot support the Nomad 200 beyond 15′ without significant power losses.
