All the smarts are in the battery packs these days. All the charger cradle has to do is provide the voltage range the battery wants, and the battery tells the charger when it’s full by disconnecting from the charger.

Some cameras offer power management features, and these generic chargers don’t support these proprietary systems. But, if you simply want a charger that you can take on the road, or plug into a solar panel, then these are worth taking a look at.
