Description
The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 75/15 is an ideal solution for single solar module systems of 150W to 200 Watts on boats, vans, RVs, and cabins. This 15A MPPT charge controller is easy to install on 12V & 24V systems, and offers load control. Bluetooth control and monitoring is available with the optional dongle.
BlueSolar MPPT 75/15 Features…
- High-speed MPPT tracking
- Optional Bluetooth
- Battery Life function
- Remote control : via VictronConnect application (Bluetooth required)
- Programmable charging algorithm to suit any battery chemistry
- Charging in 3 stages : Bulk – Absorption – Float
- Internal temperature sensor
- External temperature and voltage sensor (optional)
- Fully discharged battery recovery feature
The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) solar charger is connected between the photovoltaic modules and the batteries. Its main function is to get as much energy out of the modules as possible.
The BlueSolar MPPT has a very fast control of the maximum power point. It adapts when the sunlight of the panel varies a lot (cloudy day), allowing up to 10% more energy to be recovered than a standard MPPT and up to 30% more energy than a PWM.
The device can use optional Bluetooth functionality to drive, control and update the system from a smartphone. The device can also be connected directly to a Color Control GX, PC or other Victron monitoring devices.
This model is equipped with a battery safety feature to protect the battery from being over-discharged. There is also short-circuiting protection.
The Battery Life algorithm controls the state of charge of the battery. This intelligent management controls the energy absorbed by the load. This improves battery life by recharging the battery to 100% capacity at least once a week.
The charger is equipped with a temperature sensor to compensate the charging voltage according to its temperature.
MPPT Means Faster Charging
Consider a 200W solar panel operating at 20V. The charging current associated with this will be 10A. A typical low-cost PWM charge controller will adjust the charging voltage according to the battery state-of-charge, and will let through some percentage of the 10A.
In contrast, an MPPT controller will maximize the incoming power from the solar to maximize the charging amps. So this same solar panel will provide 14A to the batteries when charging at 14V.
