IQ8X Microinverter is the latest addition to the Enphase IQ8 family, designed to support PV modules with higher input DC voltage and cell counts, such as 80-half-cut cells, 88-half-cut cells and 96-cells. If your solar module’s Voc is higher than 50V, then the IQ8X is your best option for Canadian climates.
The brain of this advanced semiconductor-based microinverter is Enphase’s proprietary application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) which enables the microinverter to operate in grid-tied or off-grid modes. This chip is built in advanced 55nm technology with high speed digital logic and has super-fast response times to changing loads and grid events, alleviating constraints on battery sizing for home energy systems.
