Unlike the Nikon EN-EL3 charger that came with your Nikon camera, this generic charger offers far more versatility for people on the go.

This generic charger is small & light, and easy to pack along. The AC outlet prongs fold down, the unit is only about 2 x 2 x 3" in size, and weighs next to nothing.

Using Generic Chargers with Nikon-branded batteries...
This charger will charge Nikon batteries, and 3rd party battery packs with no concerns. Depending on your camera body, the battery status information may or may not get updated (Nikon-branded functionality).

Using with solar

Simply plug the charger's cigarette adaptor into your solar panel, and place the panel in the sun. Note that for solar-direct use, a panel of 5 watts or more is recommended for reasonable charging times.

When you want to plug directly into a solar panel, any panel providing 5 to 15 watts will do the job well. All that is needed is a 12v CLA power socket outlet (like the socket in your car's dashboard). More powerful panels will be able to charge faster.

Don't want to be at the mercy of the sun? Simply put a battery pack between the solar panel & this charger. Using an intermediate battery pack will capture & store more of the solar power and allow the charger to operate at full speed whenever you need to use it... day or night.
