What the heck is a universal USB solar power dongle?
It’s a neat little USB power port that you can use with any 5-8V solar panel to create a regulated, fully-compatible USB port. Now you can charge your USB devices directly from the sun with minimal equipment!
No solar storage battery required… power goes directly to your device’s battery.

For example, the USB 5V Regulator connects securely to any Voltaic 6 Volt solar panel (2W, 3.5W, 6W, 9W) and outputs a regulated 5 Volts to a female USB port. Plug your iPhone, Android, iPad, GoPro, headlamp, or any other USB device just as if you were plugging into its own USB charger port.
For consistent charging of smartphones, we recommend using a minimum 6W solar panel.
