Using Generic Chargers with Nikon-branded batteries...
This charger will charge Nikon batteries, and 3rd party battery packs. Depending on your camera body, the battery status information may or may not get updated (Nikon-branded functionality).

Using with solar

Simply plug the charger's USB cable into any USB solar panel & place the panel in sunlight. Note that for solar-direct use, a panel of 5 watts or more is recommended for reasonable charging times.

Don't want to be at the mercy of the sun? Simply put a battery pack between the solar panel & this charger. Using an intermediate solar storage battery pack will capture & store more of the solar power and allow the charger to operate at full speed whenever you need to use it... day or night.
